Cookie management.

Understand what cookies are, how we use them on Photoweb Cloud and how you can set your preferences at any time.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone by your browser when you visit a website or an online service such as Photoweb Cloud.

These cookies allow the service to recognise you from one visit to the next, to improve your browsing, to measure traffic and, in some cases, to tailor the adverts you see elsewhere on the web. Cookies cannot collect information stored on your computer or in your personal files.

The two main families of cookies

Session cookies

Stored temporarily during your visit and deleted automatically when you close your browser. They are essential to the everyday running of the service, for example to keep you logged in.

Persistent cookies

Kept on your device for longer so that you can be recognised on your next visits. They remember your preferences so that you do not have to set them again every time.

How we use cookies

We use cookies for several reasons:

  • Remember your login credentials and recognise that you are authenticated.
  • Keep your browsing preferences (language, album layout…) so that you do not have to set them again on every visit.
  • Measure traffic on the service, in aggregate form, to understand which pages you consult the most and improve the experience.
  • Secure the registration and login forms.
  • Enable the integration of partner services (videos, audience measurement, advertising).

Some of these cookies, in particular those related to audience measurement and advertising, are only placed with your consent. You can accept, refuse or withdraw this consent at any time from our preferences manager (see below). Your photos and videos, however, are never analysed or used for commercial or advertising purposes.

Your consent

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse, category by category, the placing of cookies that are not strictly necessary for the service to work. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and no audience measurement or advertising cookie is placed until you have given your agreement.

You remain free to change your choices whenever you wish.

Cookies placed by our partners

Some services integrated into Photoweb Cloud place their own cookies. Here is the list of partners, their purpose and the retention period of the cookies concerned.

Partner Purpose Retention period
AxeptioConsent management: remembers your cookie choices so that you are not asked again on every visit.12 months
Google Analytics (GA4)Aggregate audience measurement: number of visitors, pages viewed, journeys, in order to improve the service.13 months
Google Ads / DoubleClickAdvertising: tailors the adverts you may see elsewhere on the web and measures their effectiveness, without showing you the same advert several times.13 months
Google reCAPTCHASecurity: protects the registration and login forms against malicious bots. Essential to the proper functioning of the service.6 months
YouTubePlayback of embedded videos: Google may place audience measurement and personalisation cookies specific to its platform.13 months
Microsoft Advertising (Bing)Advertising: conversion tracking and the delivery of relevant adverts when you arrive on Photoweb Cloud from the Bing search engine.13 months

To find out more about how Google uses data from its services, you can consult policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can adjust your Google advertising preferences at adssettings.google.com and opt out of Google Analytics across all sites via tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We are not responsible for the content of these external sites.

How to manage or disable cookies

You can change your choices at any time and enable or disable each category of cookies from our preferences manager.

You can also set up cookies directly from your browser. Please note: as some cookies are necessary for Photoweb Cloud to work, disabling them may prevent certain features, in particular logging in to your account.

To go further, you can consult the cookies section of the CNIL, the French data protection authority.
