Family entrusting their memories to Photoweb Cloud
Eco-responsibility

Saving what matters is also caring for our environment.

At Photoweb Cloud, we want to let you store and organise your photos in a leaner cloud, by reducing its environmental footprint.

Every day, more photos and videos are taken: the volume of files to keep keeps growing. We're aware of it, and the environmental challenges are real. That's why we're committed to actively reducing our footprint — from our servers to our communications — without ever compromising on the security and availability of your memories.

Controlled energy consumption

Our data centres optimise their energy consumption, both for running and for cooling the servers.

Storage in France

For servers too, closer is better! We host your data in France, and nowhere else: it's both safer and GDPR-compliant.

No waste

We give replaced hardware a second life when its condition allows, to extend its life cycle and reduce our waste.

Optimise to better preserve.

We regularly renew our equipment to meet your needs while ensuring the best level of performance. But we do it without waste: when their condition allows, replaced components are reassigned to secondary tasks, with no direct link to the management of your data.

Through this reuse, we extend the life of our hardware and limit the amount of our waste.

Leaner communications.

We've streamlined our email sends, particularly promotional ones, by rethinking our targeting criteria and reducing the weight of our messages. At Photoweb group level, email volume was cut by 30% between 2021 and 2023 (around 0.06 g CO₂e per email) — and we favour a more direct relationship with you, via our blog, our help centre and our social networks.

Our civic and environmental commitments.

Our actions aren't limited to optimising our tools. The involvement of our teams seems just as essential to us, which is why we encourage them to act for the environment every day.

For several years, we have supported soft mobility (cycling, walking, public transport…) and carpooling: a bonus is given to those who come to work by means other than a car, and parking spaces are reserved for carpoolers. The well-being and health of our teams are also among our priorities.

These concrete actions are part of the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach of the Photoweb group, which targets a 30% reduction in its carbon footprint by 2030 — its emissions having already fallen by 23% in 2023.

And you have a role to play too.

We do what's needed internally to reduce our impact, but it's together that we'll go furthest. A few simple habits are enough to lighten your space: sort through your files, delete duplicates and surplus images, and keep only what matters — your finest memories. In the fight against global warming, every action counts.
